PEACE OF MIND
SAFE NAVIGATION

As travel requirements have been relaxed worldwide, we are pleased to welcome all passengers to our ships to travel freely to the places of their dreams, regardless of their vaccination status and without the need for testing.

SAFETY ABOARD OUR SHIPS

With Sail Safe, our industry-leading health and safety program, we will continue to put our guests and crew members first, keeping everyone safe and healthy aboard our ships and in the communities we visit. In addition to requiring crew members to have all their vaccinations up to date, we will continue to develop our scientifically sound program to expand our cleaning, hygiene and air filtration technologies throughout our fleet.

  • We have implemented comprehensive enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols, using EPA-approved disinfectants, throughout the cruise experience.
  • We are strategically installing medical-grade air filters of the highest possible filtration rating, MERV 13 or HEPA, capable of removing 99.9% of airborne pathogens, including the virus that causes COVID-19 and have implemented new bipolar ionization technology.
  • We are enhancing our onboard medical capabilities with additional staffing based on capacity and upgraded facilities, including new upgraded equipment and collaborative arrangements with shore-based medical institutions.
  • Each ship will have a dedicated public health officer on board who will oversee the daily disinfection and cleaning of all public areas and accommodations.

COUNTRY-SPECIFIC TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Updated february 24, 2023.

NOTE: Norwegian Cruise Line is working closely with local government and health authorities to compile travel requirements to the destinations we visit. While this information is provided as a courtesy to our guests, the destinations we travel to may have very specific entry requirements due to health and safety protocols, including requirements for possible back-up, additional testing by authorized third parties, and mask requirements. Passengers who do not meet all country-specific requirements may be denied boarding.

It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure that they meet the entry requirements for each destination. If you will be traveling to other countries, the countries to which you will be traveling and/or connecting may have different testing and vaccination/reinforcement requirements, and we recommend that you check the government and airport websites of each of the countries you will be traveling to during your trip for their requirements.

FOR ALL CRUISES

As you prepare for your next voyage, we want to make sure that the embarkation process is hassle-free and inform you of the following important requirements.

Norwegian Cruise Line recommends that all passengers follow and, to the extent possible, subscribe to receive notifications from their local government regarding international travel regulations that may cause delays, restrict or require additional documentation when traveling to another country for embarkation or during the course of their cruise. Please note that hotels booked through NCL for a pre- or post-cruise stay may have additional protocols and requirements. Check directly with the hotel for more information.

The country-specific protocols below apply to cruises departing from or calling at the above countries, unless otherwise specified. Effective January 5, 2023, all passengers who have recently visited mainland China, Hong Kong or Macau will be required to undergo an enhanced medical examination.

Protocols for China, Hong Kong and Macao

Country requirements

For passengers who have recently visited mainland China, Hong Kong or Macau:

In light of growing concerns about COVID-19 in China and recent travel restrictions implemented by countries including the United States, effective January 5, we will implement preventative health and safety measures on all cruises with embarkation dates between January 5 and February 28, 2023.

  • Enhanced health and safety protocols for all passengers who have recently visited mainland China, Hong Kong or Macau include the following:
    • Passengers who have visited Mainland China, Hong Kong or Macau in the 10 days prior to embarkation must present a negative PCR test for COVID-19 performed under medical supervision within 48 hours prior to departure at their place of residence or at the place they visited immediately prior to the cruise. This provision also applies to passengers transiting through an airport in one of the above countries within 10 days prior to embarkation.
    • In addition, these passengers must undergo a COVID-19 PCR test conducted under medical supervision at the port of embarkation within 8 hours of embarkation, and must be tested on board ship every 48 hours until 10 days have elapsed since their last stay in China, Hong Kong or Macau.
    • These passengers must also have all vaccinations and boosters approved by the World Health Organization prior to boarding.
    • Passengers with passports from China, Hong Kong or Macau will be subject to the same protocols, unless they can prove that they have not visited these regions in the 10 days prior to boarding.

The costs for all mandatory COVID-19 tests will be borne by the guest. Shipboard testing currently costs $99 per person per test.
