What is a Bar Tab and how does it work?

Bar Tab are drink credits purchased and added to your Sailor account up to 24 hours before you sail.

Upon arrival at the terminal, you’ll receive The Band — a wristlet connected to your Sailor account. Swipe it when paying for drinks using your drink credits. 

  • Bar Tab pays for beer, wine, cocktails, mocktails, fresh juices, smoothies, specialty coffees — basically any drink made by a crew member.
  • All prepaid options include extra drink credits, on us.
  • If you run out of drink credits, your account will be charged instead.
  • You can use Bar Tab to purchase drinks for yourself and other Sailors.

The Bar Tab is the ultimate way to enhance your trip! When you purchase your Bar Tab, you will unlock additional credits, giving you more to spend on Premium or Signature drinks at bars, onboard restaurants, and at The Beach Club at Bimini (Caribbean). From morning lattes to evening cocktails, you will enjoy more for less.
Here's how it adds up:

Advance purchase (before the cruise):

  • $200 → $25 bonus = $225 total
  • $300 → $50 bonus = $350 total
  • $500 → $100 bonus = $600 total
  • $750 → $175 bonus = $925 total
  • $1,000 → $250 bonus = $1,250 total


Purchase on embarkation day:

  • $300 → $25 bonus = $325 total

What drinks are considered Premium, or Signature drinks?
Premium, or signature drinks include alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, cocktails), mocktails, freshly squeezed or fresh-pressed juices, smoothies, floats, and specialty coffees. 

As always, still and sparkling water, fountain sodas, juices, drip coffee, tea, milk, and select non-dairy creamers are already included in your voyage fare — at no extra charge!

What’s the difference between pre-purchasing Bar Tab and buying it onboard?

Pre-purchasing your Bar Tab comes with exclusive bonuses not available onboard. For example, when you pre-purchase a $500 Bar Tab, you’ll get a $100 bonus, giving you $600 to spend on your favorite drinks.

Not only do you save, but you also start your voyage stress-free, with one less thing to think about.

Is Bar Tab just for alcoholic drinks?

Not at all! Bar Tab covers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Enjoy options like:

  • Specialty coffees and teas at Grounds Club
  • Fresh-pressed juices and smoothies
  • Noughty Sparkling wine and non-alcoholic beers
  • Floats from the Social Club
  • Canned energy drinks like Red Bull
  • Bottled kombucha

Our bartenders can also whip up delicious mocktails or customize cocktails to your liking. Bar Tab truly has something for everyone!

Is there a budget-friendly Bar Tab option?

Yes! If you’re sailing on a shorter voyage or keeping things simple, the $200 Bar Tab is the perfect pick. It comes with a $25 bonus, giving you $225 to spend — enough for up to 17 mojitos or 32 beers.

The bonus is only available when you pre-purchase, so be sure to secure it before your voyage!

What are the benefits of choosing a higher Bar Tab amount?

If you’re on a longer voyage or simply love to indulge, higher Bar Tab tiers unlock even bigger bonuses. For example, a $1,000 Bar Tab includes an extra $250, giving you $1,250 to spend.

That’s plenty for:

  • Morning specialty coffees and teas
  • Afternoon fresh-pressed juices
  • Poolside margaritas or dockside sangria
  • Any beverages at The Beach Club at Bimini (on select Caribbean sailings)
  • Dreamy evening cocktails or even Moët Chandon Imperial champagne delivered to you via Shake for Champagne!

You can use your drink credits to buy drinks for yourself or anybody else, so treat your Sail Mates or toast with new ones onboard. It’s the ultimate way to elevate your voyage.

If I don’t purchase a Bar Tab, can I still get premium drinks?
Yes! You can still purchase premium drinks without a Bar Tab — each drink will simply be charged to your folio. Once onboard, you can monitor your purchases and balance in your folio at any time.

Can I share my Bar Tab with my cabin mate?

Absolutely! You can visit Sailor Services on board to merge your folios, allowing you to share your Bar Tab. Just keep in mind that once merged, one Sailor will be responsible for all purchases.

If you prefer to keep things separate, you can also pre-purchase a Bar Tab for both yourself and your cabin mate.

What happens if I use up all of my Bar Tab, or have some leftover at the end of my Voyage?

Once your Bar Tab runs out, any additional premium drink purchases will be charged to your onboard credit or “Sailor Loot” (if applicable), or to your folio. 

Keep in mind that any unused drink credit at the end of your Voyage won’t be refunded or transferred — so be sure to sip and savor every drop!
