Endicott Arm is a fjord of glacial origin of about 48 km, surrounded by mountains and steep walls. At the end of the fjord is Dawes Glacier, an impressive mass of ice that descends from the Stikine Icefield.
The experience does not simply consist of “seeing a glacier”: the ship sails into the interior of the fjord until approaching the glacier front. Navigation through Endicott Arm can offer sightings of whales, seals, eagles, and other animals. The waters of the fjord and its surroundings are part of a very rich ecosystem.
